We come in and look at the property. We determine if what we see is valuable or if it has just sentimental value. Yes, that may seem a bit harsh but our expert evaluators are able to look at something without the memories that you have about that item. So we are able to give a fair 3rd party view of the time in question and give a fair price. Sadly many items people thought to be highly valuable are not. However, the truth is they are valuable to the family only. People outside of that group won’t have the same thoughts about that widget as you and your relatives would have.
With a senior transition service, they are able to see what will sell what might be valuable for the family, and what won’t be sold. So you and your family have a realistic expectations of the results. Will you make $20,000 on the contents inside of grandmas house? Probably not. Many times estate sales don’t make as much money as the family would hope. That is because again of the memories and thoughts they have about the property being sold off. Not so much the actual value of the objects in question.
So what do we do? We come in and determine what will have a high probability of selling, and at a good probable price. Then the service will sell the items. The senior transition service may place ads in the local paper or online while putting out other notices about the upcoming estate sale.
